Work Packages


In order to accomplish its goals, the project is decomposed into nine (9) manageable Work Packages (WPs).





End-user Studies

- Real-life usage scenarios of Transport Management Systems (TMS)and mobile route-planning devices aredescribed and used to derive criteria for the success of the GET Service platform.
- Based on the usage scenarios and success criteria, future use cases for the application of the GET Service platform are derived.
- A set of validation and evaluation metrics is defined, including a thorough analysis of actual CO2 calculators for transport activities.
- A set of requirements for system design, development, research activities and testing in real-user environments is determined.


Standardization and integration

- Develop a detailed architecture, in line with the high-level architecture from Figure 3, that governs the integration of the different components of the GET Service platform.
- Ensure integration of the GET service platform with other components of the European Wide Service Platform.
- Develop the core components of the GET Service platform.
- Integrate the components of the GET Service platform, developed in this WP and in WP3-WP7, into an operational platform.


Transportation planning and control services

- Develop end-user services for both transportation management and route planning that support real-time aggregated transportation planning and control
- Develop PC-based and mobile device-based user interfaces for these services.


Service composition development

- Provide means to specify and validate transportation and logistics specific attributes and constraints
- Enable highly usable on-demand service authoring and composition into chains that meet given constraints
- Make it easy for service providers to enter platform/market and compete by making it easy to create and adapt offerings to the demand of the market


Transportation planning algorithms

- Analyze existing planning tools for support of real-time data from multiple sources
- Improve existing planning tools for support of data from multiple available sources
- Improve existing planning tools for support of real-time data


Information aggregation services

- WP2 provides the foundation for the planning and service composition work packages by providing accurate state information of service composition instances, using events.
- Event types on different levels of abstraction that are relevant for states of transportation service composition instances (high level events) are identified and classified in a taxonomy.
- In order to provide business events, correlation and aggregation of sensory events into business events has to be considered.
- Need and probability to re-plan transportation service composition instances can be determined by high level events.


Service orchestration and reconfiguration - Adapt existing orchestration engines, to support orchestration of transportation-specific control structures, defined using concepts developed in WP4.
- Develop novel reconfiguration techniques to support adaptation of running transportation-specific control structures.


Dessimination and exploitation - Dissemination of project utilizing various means of communication and targeting varying external audiences.


Management - To guarantee the scientific, non-scientific and administrative coordination of all activities of the project
- To ensure the timely realization of all project objectives, milestones and deliverables
- To co-ordinate the production and delivery of project-reports
- To ensure the achievement of appropriate quality standards
- To ensure that the EU legal contractual obligations are met in accordance with the grant agreement
